Here’s
how the fitness world entered my life…
Growing up my parents always kept me active. I was a complete
tom boy. I would always tell my dad, hey if the boys can do
it then so can I… if not better! At the age of 3 I learned
to downhill ski and water ski by the time I was 6. My dad
taught me how to dribble a basketball at 8 and by the age
of 12 I was playing any sport that I could sign up for. In
high school I lettered in 3 varsity sports, talk about busy!
I owe a lot of that to my parents especially my dad. It was
my dad who has always been an example of discipline and perseverance
to follow regarding sports.
While earning my degrees in Marketing and in Graphic Design
I worked as an aerobic instructor and was a volunteer personal
traininer & mentor for the local middle school students
in Lansing holding conditioning classes at night at the Michigan
Athletic Club. It wasn’t until after attending Michigan
State University I realized that I could make a living doing
what I love! Training!
I obtained the necessary certifications needed (A.C.E, ISSA,
and NASM) to excel in the fitness industry and have owned
my own personal training and preseason conditioning coach
company since 1990.
During my downtime when I am not training, I enjoy spending
time with my husband Shawn, our labrador puppy Hailey and
the newest addition to our family our precious new baby girl
Caitlin Olivia whom I gave birth to on November 15, 2007!
Caitlin was 7 lbs and 8 oz and 21 inches long!
